Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is seeking engineers with a strong foundation in electrical engineering and power systems to apply fundamental concepts to SEL products and projects.

You will train and assist customers in the design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and protection systems, while preparing comprehensive design documents and deliverables.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline is required.
• 2+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and focus area practices and philosophies.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Possesses, understands and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of power system focus area and related SEL products.
• Train and assist customers with design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems.
• Prepare and maintain detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables.
• Follow SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Perform commissioning and site acceptance testing as needed.
