Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking an experienced engineering project manager to support Power Production. You will oversee design and construction of electric utility facilities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least five years of related experience. PMP certification is preferred or obtainable within six months. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and five years of related experience.
• Experience with power generation, transmission, or district energy projects preferred.
• PMP or ability to obtain within six months is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and assist in design of electric utility facilities across generation, substations, and transmission.
• Prepare engineering design drawings and documents for various facilities.
• Coordinate with field personnel to support project energization and field implementation.
• Develop reports, cost estimates, and feasibility studies for projects.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, ERCOT and TX PUC standards.
• Lead or support project teams and provide guidance as needed.
