Job summary

Longroad Energy is seeking a Power System Engineer Intern for a hybrid role based in our Boston office. This paid internship runs 10–12 weeks in summer 2027, targeting college juniors entering their senior year, with onboarding, mentoring and exposure to department and company activities.

• Interest in Renewable Energy Industry.
• Strong written and organizational skills.
• Cover letter highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transmission prospecting by analyzing grid maps, system data, and available capacity.

• Compile and organize transmission and land data to support development decisions.

Program Description

Longroad Energy’s internship program provides opportunities for undergraduate students to explore careers in renewable energy. In 2027, Longroad will offer paid internship positions that create challenging hands‑on learning experiences for college juniors, entering their senior year in the Fall. Selected interns will participate in a 10–12‑week summer program that includes onboarding, structured work experience, mentoring, and exposure both to department‑specific and company‑wide personnel and activities.

Job Purpose

The Transmission Intern will support the identification and evaluation of optimal locations for new renewable energy projects within the transmission grid. By assisting with transmission prospecting, data analysis, and the use of specialized tools, the intern will contribute to expanding the company’s project pipeline. This role provides hands‑on experience in power systems and renewable project development while supporting the team’s strategic growth objectives. This role is hybrid, based out of our Boston office.

Compensation

This role pays $25 hour.
