Job summary

Black & Veatch is offering a Structural Engineer Intern (Power) position in Cary, NC with relocation options to Raleigh, Chattanooga or Houston. The internship targets students in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering programs with a structural focus, offering hands‑on design tasks and exposure to real projects.

Selected interns will gain experience across design, analyses, and documentation while working in an office environment and collaborating with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Current enrollment in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR) where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support development of design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references
