Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a STAFF R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER POWER to lead power solution development for AI data centers and cloud applications. You will translate customer needs into engineering specifications and collaborate with global teams to deliver innovative connector and cable assembly solutions.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/electrical engineering, 10+ years in product development, and experience with DFx, CAD tools, and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Experience with product development processes including design, prototyping, testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience with data center technology and connectors/cable assemblies is a plus.
• Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Knowledge of CAD, GD&T, and simulation tools.
• Experience with manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of materials properties is a plus.
• Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D).
• 10+ years in product development, with 5+ years in cable assemblies/connectors.
• Experience in DFx/DFM/DFMA and cost-focused design.

Responsibilities

• Understand market and customer needs in Power DC architecture.
• Drive early concept engagement with customers and TE teams.
• Define VOC and create customer proposals.
• Iterate concepts and designs for customer platforms and power systems.
• Provide design optimization recommendations for performance.
• Lead and mentor engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate to identify solutions and readiness in product/process.
• Manage end-to-end product development lifecycle from VOC to execution.
• Follow LEANPD process to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Work with suppliers to qualify new components and technologies.
• Support manufacturing transfers to production.
