Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, close processes, and a growing accounting team. The role requires GAAP expertise, cost accounting experience, and strong SAP ERP skills to support manufacturing-driven finance.

You will drive reporting, assist audits, and partner with operations to improve controls and efficiencies while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, and inventory accounting
• Manage inventory and COGS reconciliations, including cycle counts and costing adjustments
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable IFRS standards
• Manage, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies
• Support and optimize SAP/ERP accounting processes
• Partner cross-functionally with operational and financial leadership

Accounting Manager

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing organization in Charlotte, NC. This position will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead the month-end close process, support financial reporting and audits, and manage a team of accounting professionals.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in general accounting, inventory/cost accounting, SAP, GAAP, and team leadership. Experience working within a manufacturing or product-based environment is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 3+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience managing month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Hands-on inventory and/or cost accounting experience
• Experience with COGS and fixed asset accounting
• SAP experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to effectively lead and develop an accounting team

Preferred Qualifications

• Accounting experience within a manufacturing or product-based environment
• CPA or CPA candidate
• IFRS knowledge or experience
• Experience supporting external audits and preparing PBC documentation
• ERP implementation or optimization experience
