Job summary

Tech Etch is seeking a press operator to set up and operate manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic presses in a precision manufacturing environment in Fall River, MA.

You will install die sets, adjust components, and inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to drawings and customer specifications. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and be comfortable working first shift with potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings.
  • Experience with basic hand tools and measuring equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate presses (manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic) to meet specifications from blueprints/CAD drawings.
  • Install die sets and adjust components on precision forming equipment.
  • Measure and inspect parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc., for quality and conformance.
  • Document setup notes and diagrams to ensure process repeatability.
  • Start presses and monitor operation to detect misalignment or malfunctions; adjust as needed.
  • Perform general maintenance and lubrication of presses to keep equipment operating correctly.

ABOUT THE JOB

Set up or set up and operate various manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations to specific dimensions as specified by blueprints, CAD drawings, or other documented specifications.

Essential Functions

  • Install die sets into various types of presses.
  • Adjust components and set stops on precision forming equipment.
  • Install, align, and secure holding fixtures and dies to press beds, using gauges, templates, shims, and hand tools.
  • Measure and inspect workpieces for quality and conformance to acceptable part geometry and customer specifications using various measuring equipment such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, measuring scales, etc.
  • Document specific set-up notes and diagrams to ensure process repeatability.
  • Start press and observe operation to detect possible misalignment or malfunction and make any necessary changes/adjustments.
  • Perform general maintenance and lubrication of presses to keep equipment operating correctly.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. First shift days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to

3:30pm. Occasional overtime as deemed by management and production needs. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment a plus.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance(if applicable)

Salary Range: $17.50-$25.00/hour

This is the full salary range for the position. Most new hires can expect to start around $17.50/hour.

Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
