Job summary

Georgia Pacific in Rincon, GA is hiring a Power Plant Utility Operator to support the Savannah River Mill's utilities team. The role focuses on safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement.

You will monitor solid fuel boilers, turbine generators, cooling towers, and steam/water systems, perform basic maintenance, and log equipment data. The position requires a rotating 12-hour shift, with days, nights, weekends, and overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating in a manufacturing/industrial setting preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational monitoring and troubleshooting of solid fuel fired high pressure boilers.
• Operate and monitor gas/steam turbine generators, compressed air systems, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
• Sample and quality test steam and water systems.
• Perform lubrication, basic maintenance of powerhouse equipment.
• Interface with computers to log operational data.
