Piedmont Green Power, LLC (“PGP”) owns a 55MW biomass-fired generating facility located in Barnesville, Georgia, approximately 70 miles southeast of Atlanta. PGP commenced operations in 2013 and sells power to Georgia Power Company, through a long‐term offtake contract. PGP utilizes approximately 500,000 tons of woody biomass annually, consisting of urban wood waste, mill, and logging residues. As of December 2023, PGP became fully owned by Pacolet Milliken, LLC.

Operations Manager
Full-time Non-Exempt
Responsible for supervising and operating the plant in a safe, environmentally sound, and efficient manner. Communicates objectives, trains, directs, and evaluates assigned personnel in accordance with company policies and government regulations. In the absence of Plant Management, the Shift Supervisor is the senior-most representative of the facility.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
5 years of experience as a Control Room Operator and/or Shift Supervisor in a power plant or similar industrial environment.

Possess close visual acuity and acuity to determine accuracy and to operate machinery, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment; ability to balance; stoop; kneel; stand; walk; perform fingering such as picking; grasp objects; talk; hear effectively; and make repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers; and, exert up to 20lbs of force occasionally and 10lbs. frequently.
Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions such as temperature levels below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees for more than one hour; noise levels where one may need to shout to be heard; vibrations; hazards such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in high places; exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, oils, and other cutting fluids; requires wearing a respirator; and work in close quarters and narrow passageways.
