Job summary

Oglethorpe Power Corp. is seeking a skilled technician to oversee the operation and maintenance of simple-cycle combustion turbine assets. You will perform operator rounds, troubleshoot, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize reliability and reduce O&M costs.

The role requires strong problem-solving, clear communication, and effective use of control systems and maintenance software. Travel of 15% is expected for outages and contractor coordination.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience: Six years in operation or maintenance of a power facility or equivalent; eight years with expanded qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily plant operations and maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
• Manage work orders, maintenance planning, and asset inventory; follow MAXIMO processes.
• Maintain safe work practices and participate in safety meetings and training.
• Administer contracts and coordinate support services; prepare reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and government regulations.
• Demonstrate leadership when directing assistants and contractors during major repairs.
