Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an engineering intern to provide reliability engineering support at Harrington and Nichols Stations, helping with overhaul planning, capital projects, and troubleshooting power plant equipment.

You will assist with SAP work orders, funding requests, and drawing updates using ProjectWise, while collaborating with engineers and plant crews.

This internship starts May 31, 2027, with possible extension based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET-accredited college pursuing an engineering degree.
• Available to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week).
• Willing to commute to the designated work location in-person as per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overhaul planning and capital projects for power plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot power plant equipment and support on-site crews.
• Create SAP work orders and help fund emergent projects.
• Learn and update drawings using ProjectWise software.
• Attend safety meetings and coordinate with plant crews.
