Job summary

United States Sugar Corporation is seeking a Power House/Utilities Engineer to lead maintenance and reliability for boilers, turbines, and related systems. You will manage risk, coordinate with operations, and apply predictive maintenance techniques to sustain safe, efficient sugar production.

The role emphasizes asset performance, MOC participation, and cost-effective maintenance planning in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Boiler operation knowledge and maintenance experience.
• Preference for 5 years in heavy manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance services; SME for boilers, turbines, pumps, compressors, water and steam lines, valves, and related systems.
• Monitor boiler water, chemical and fuel levels for optimal performance.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials periodically to identify defects and potential issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults, implement corrective actions, and ensure continuous, reliable operation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements; conduct risk assessments and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and other departments to align boiler activities with plant needs.
• Document all operational activities, maintenance actions, and safety measures.
• Stay updated on technical advances, regulatory changes, and best practices in boiler house operations.
• Follow the Work Management Process and oversee planned and emergency maintenance activities.
• Assure the PM program is diligently implemented and Predictive Maintenance technologies are applied on sugar manufacturing assets.
• Participate in MOC to initiate, review, and implement process changes for safety, efficiency, or reliability.
• Provide project management for capital projects; supervise fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
