Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers in Boston, MA is seeking a Mechanical Piping Designer to join the Power Group on a hybrid basis. You will design piping and ductwork for industrial projects including cogeneration plants and large chillers, and develop 3D models and GA drawings.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent and 3–7+ years of experience with ASME codes, AutoCAD and Revit. Strong detail orientation and team collaboration are essential, with occasional site visits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a vocational training program or technical school.
• 3 to 7+ years of experience in mechanical piping design.
• Knowledge of ASME codes and industry piping standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings and design of piping and ductwork systems for industrial projects.
• Develop equipment general arrangement drawings, piping plans and section drawings.
• Create and modify technical drawings and schematics from engineer markups using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate layout of mechanical equipment and routing of piping with other trades.
• May travel to project sites to observe existing conditions.
