Job summary

ContourGlobal Hobbs is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to assist in safe, efficient power-plant operation on-site. You will monitor systems, perform routine water/gas chemistry analysis, inspect components, and support plant maintenance, reporting status to the Operations Manager.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork within a growing renewable-focused portfolio. Extended hours, shifts, and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Power Plant environment desired, preferably as a Power Plant Technician, or equivalent position.
• Experience working with high-pressure turbines, combustion turbines, and familiarity with associated equipment.
• Experience in water chemistry control, condition analysis, water treatment facility operations, and chemical-handling requirements is desired.
• Strong aptitude in math, and mechanical/electrical ability, desired.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion-turbine operations, industrial safety, hazardous waste management, and inspection/recording of Plant parameters, is highly desirable.
• Experience with piping and instrument schematics, and process controls, desirable.
• Mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment knowledge, is desired.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor power plant equipment to ensure reliability.
• Assist with maintenance activities including mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Perform chemical handling and water treatment tasks.
• Support the Maintenance team with lock-out/tag-out procedures and troubleshooting.
• Adhere to ContourGlobal Health & Safety standards.
