Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Plant Operations professional to maintain and repair physical plant systems, ensuring safe operation and peak efficiency. The role supports hospital facilities in maintaining critical infrastructure and responding to equipment issues on a 2nd shift schedule (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday).

Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years of related experience, a High School diploma or GED, and an SE - Class 1 HVAC/EPA Refrigerant certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2–5 years of experience in plant operations or a closely related field.
• SE - Class 1, HVAC/EPA Refrigerant certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keeps equipment clean and operational and adheres to infection control and regulatory guidelines.
• Operates, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains physical plant equipment per procedures and safety regulations.
• Completes preventive maintenance per manufacturer specifications and department policies.
• Notifies leadership of equipment malfunctions or critical events affecting boiler plant or steam systems.
• Monitors elevators and coordinates dispatch of repairs when needed.
