Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking an Operations Support Technician to ensure plant equipment operates with accurate data. You will take readings, perform calculations, and monitor equipment outside the control room under direction. The role requires strict safety adherence and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Essential duties include operating and inspecting equipment, recording data, and communicating conditions to the team. A high school diploma and 3 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years’ experience in a power plant environment or related field preferred.
• Must have valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and monitor power plant equipment safely and reliably.
• Record data and readings, and perform calculations as required.
• Observe safety guidelines and follow procedures for operator duties.
• Maintain shift logs and communicate equipment conditions to the team.
• Work 12-hour rotating shifts and be available for on-call emergencies.
