Job summary

Calpine at Pastoria Energy Center in Lebec, CA seeks a skilled plant operator. You will assist in operating turbine/generator equipment, start/stop pumps, monitor water flows, pressures, temperatures and fuel consumption, and keep accurate logs.

The role requires a high school diploma and up to four years of related experience; calibration/test equipment experience is preferred. Emphasis on safe operations and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma, degree from technical/vocational school or equivalent.
• Requires zero to four years of related experience.
• Prefer some previous experience using test equipment and calibration appliances.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment; start/stop pumps and auxiliary equipment and record operating data.
• Inspect plant equipment for faults and assist in maintenance tasks including diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot plant electrical, instrumentation and control systems; calibrate and repair as needed to maintain unit performance.
• Maintain logs and support safe, compliant operations and procedures.
