Job summary

Calpine seeks a plant operator to assist in operating plant equipment, starting and stopping pumps and auxiliary equipment to maintain safe, efficient generation.

You will record operational data, inspect equipment, calibrate controls, and support switchyard operations under procedures and safety rules.

Requires a high school diploma or technical/vocational training and 0–4 years of related experience; experience with test equipment and calibration is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma, degree from technical/vocational school or equivalent.
• Zero to four years of related experience, with preference for experience using test equipment and calibration appliances.
• Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of plant equipment, starts and stops pumps and auxiliary equipment, checks lubrication and cooling.
• Take and record plant operational data and inspect equipment for faults.
• Assist with maintenance tasks, diagnosis and repair of electrical, instrumentation and control systems, and switchyard operations as needed.
