Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the design, build, and operation of a full gas-turbine power plant. You will own commissioning in the control room during startup and guide field troubleshooting, not a desk job.

You will coordinate across gas turbines, HRSG, steam turbines, and balance of plant teams, drive performance improvements, and manage outages, spend, and reliability targets while reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in utility-scale gas turbines or 14+ years in similar roles.
• 2+ years of project management experience leading operations.
• Experience with combined-cycle plant systems and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a multi-disciplinary power plant team spanning gas turbines, mechanical and electrical balance of plant, controls, and commissioning.
• Own the full lifecycle of gas turbine power generation assets — installation, commissioning, startup, operations, and long-term maintenance.
• Set technical direction and execution plans for commissioning, including combustion tuning and control system checkout.
• Own root-cause analysis and corrective action for turbine trips, outages, and performance degradation.
• Establish and improve operating procedures, startup/shutdown sequences, and abnormal operating condition playbooks.
• Represent the power plant organization to internal stakeholders and make timely field decisions under pressure.
