Job summary

Prairie State Energy Campus is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical maintenance across power plant systems and auxiliary equipment. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and test components, while following procedures and safety standards.

You will support preventive and predictive maintenance, coordinate with multiple teams, and assist during outages and major overhauls to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 2 years direct mechanical maintenance experience in power/industrial settings required; 4 years in related roles may be considered.
• Experience with rotating equipment, conveyors, pumps, valves, fans, gearboxes, piping systems, and hydraulics is preferred.
• Must pass EEI test battery.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on power plant and auxiliary equipment per plans and procedures.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, test, and return equipment to service.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability and availability.
• Coordinate with supervision, planning, operations, and engineering to identify issues.
• Follow LOTO safety rules and plant standards during work execution.
• Use CMMS (Maximo) to document work and identify follow-up tasks.
• Assist with outages and field coordination during major overhauls.
