Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Instrument Specialist for its Hayden, CO location. The role involves installing, maintaining, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation and process control systems across a power plant, including CEMS.

You will ensure regulatory-compliant testing and maintain detailed records. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a two-year electronics/instrumentation certificate, with four+ years in power plant or industrial

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Two-year certificate from a vocational technical institute in electronics or instrumentation, or company-approved equivalent training and/or experience.
Two or more years troubleshooting and repairs to the component level of electronic/industrial instrumentation.
Four or more years of power plant, industrial or refining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, configuration and repair of power plant instrumentation and process control systems, including CEMS.
Perform testing required by Plant Operations and regulatory requirements; prepare and submit records.
Specify and initiate purchase requisitions in support of the above.
Maintain accurate records and upgrade equipment/systems with latest technology for plant optimization.
