Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Instrument Specialist for its Hayden, CO location. The role involves installing, maintaining, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation and process control systems across a power plant, including CEMS.

You will ensure regulatory-compliant testing and maintain detailed records. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a two-year electronics/instrumentation certificate, with four+ years in power plant or industrial

• Two-year certificate from a vocational technical institute in electronics or instrumentation, or company-approved equivalent training and/or experience.
• Two or more years troubleshooting and repairs to the component level of electronic/industrial instrumentation.
• Four or more years of power plant, industrial or refining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, configuration and repair of power plant instrumentation and process control systems, including CEMS.
• Perform testing required by Plant Operations and regulatory requirements; prepare and submit records.
• Specify and initiate purchase requisitions in support of the above.
• Maintain accurate records and upgrade equipment/systems with latest technology for plant optimization.
