Job summary

Xcel Energy, Inc. is seeking an Instrument Specialist for our Hayden, CO location. You will perform installation, calibration, testing and repair of plant instrumentation and process control systems, including CEMS.

The successful candidate will have 4+ years of power plant or industrial instrumentation experience and a related certificate. Travel to other sites may be required and some overtime is scheduled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year certificate from vocational/tech institute in electronics or instrumentation or equivalent training/experience.
• Two or more years troubleshooting and repairs to electronic/industrial instrumentation.
• Four+ years power plant, industrial or refining experience required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation and process control systems, including CEMS.
• Perform testing required by Plant Operation and regulatory requirements; prepare and submit records.
• Specify and initiate purchase requisitions for related equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of instrumentation activities.
• Upgrade equipment and systems with latest technology for plant optimization.
