Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking an Instrument and Controls Technician to maintain and repair plant instrumentation and control systems, ensuring accurate and safe operation of power generation units and auxiliaries. Duties include calibration, preventive maintenance, and documentation under the direction of the maintenance supervisor.

The role requires at least three years of journey-level experience in instrumentation and control, including analog/digital controls, environmental monitoring, and PLC/DCs.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of journey-level instrument and control experience including calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with analog/digital controls (pressure, level, temperature, flow) and environmental monitoring.
• Microprocessor-based instrumentation like DCS/SCADA/PLC systems required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, calibrate and perform preventive maintenance of plant control systems.
• Test and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment to ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain records including daily work reports and calibration logs.
• Study manuals, diagrams and schematics; consult with supervisors and vendors to resolve issues.
• Ensure safe operation of control systems through proper procedures and PPE.
• Support instrumentation tasks across plant processes as directed by maintenance supervisor.
