Job summary

PacifiCorp in Huntington, UT is seeking an Instrument and Control Technician to maintain and repair plant instrumentation and control systems, ensuring safe, accurate control of power generation units under supervision. The role requires hands-on calibration and troubleshooting across turbine controls, DCS/SCADA, and associated instrumentation.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of journey-level experience in analog/digital controls, environmental monitoring, water chemistry, and AC/DC

Qualifications

• At least three years of journey-level instrument and control experience in calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with analog and digital controls (electronics & pneumatic) including pressure, level, temperature, and flow.
• Experience with environmental measurement (NOx, SOx, opacity, CO2, oxygen).
• Experience with microprocessor-based instrumentation (DCS, SCADA, PLC).
• Experience with water chemistry monitoring (pH, silica, conductivity).
• Knowledge of AC/DC theory.
• Experience with test equipment and troubleshooting.
• Awareness of personal and equipment protection.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance of plant control systems (turbine controls, combustion controls) to ensure reliable operation.
• Test, repair, and calibrate scrubber monitoring equipment and continuous emission monitoring systems to meet environmental standards.
• Test, repair, and calibrate water treatment instrumentation so operations can control plant chemistry.
• Test, repair, and calibrate plant instrumentation and controls on processes.
• Maintain records: daily work reports, PM records, calibration records.
• Study manuals and schematics; consult with supervisor and vendors to research maintenance problems.
