Job summary

The Rosemary Power Station in Roanoke Rapids, NC, operated by NAES, seeks an Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (IC&E) Technician to calibrate, test, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment for safe, reliable plant operation.

You will work with Allen Bradley PLCs, 13.8 kV / 4160-volt switchgear, motors, transformers, and generators; maintain logs, support outages, and ensure compliance with safety standards and MMS/SAP records.

Qualifications

Four years of high school completed; associate degree preferred.
Experience in power plants or industrial settings preferred.
Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems in modern power stations.
Maintenance of instrumentation systems for gas-fired combined cycle plants.
Knowledge of burner management, combustion, and boiler control systems.
Experience with turbine controls, start-up/shutdown, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with PLCs and instrumentation—Allen Bradley preferred.
Strong written and analytical communication skills.

Responsibilities

Calibrate, test, maintain, troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical systems.
Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on electrical equipment.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems; update PLC logic with engineers.
Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime.
Install new equipment and modifications per safety standards.
Maintain logs and plant drawings, calibration data, and MMS/SAP records.
Ensure safe working practices and hazard identification; implement repairs as needed.
Assist Plant Engineer with tests on turbine controls and boiler control systems.
Work with outside contractors during overhauls providing technical guidance.
