Job summary

Alliant Energy's Columbia Energy Center in Pardeeville, Wisconsin, is seeking an Equipment Operator - Operations on a special temporary basis. You will perform turbine, boiler and coal handling tasks, start up and shut down equipment, and perform routine maintenance while following safety procedures.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and experience in an electric generating facility, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience and/or equivalent industrial experience in an electric generating facility.

Responsibilities

• Keeps turbine, boiler and coal handling equipment neat, clean and operating properly.
• Cares for and purifies the station oil supply and keeps bearings well lubricated.
• Operates all ash and slag handling equipment.
• Performs tests, takes readings and records data.
• Starts up, shuts down and cares for all turbine and boiler auxiliaries.
• Performs maintenance work of ordinary nature when not operating.
