Alliant Energy is seeking an Equipment Operator - Operations at the Columbia Energy Center in Pardeeville, WI. This temporary, full-time role handles turbine, boiler and coal handling equipment, with a 12-hour rotating day/night schedule and potential relief coverage.

The position involves operating air quality control systems and performing routine maintenance as needed. You will gain hands-on experience in the power industry, work with diverse teams, and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and equipment.
• Ability to work safely in a power plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Keeps turbine, boiler and coal handling equipment neat, clean and operating properly.
• Operates ash and slag handling equipment and related systems.
• Performs tests, takes readings and records data.
• Starts up, shuts down and cares for all turbine and boiler auxiliaries.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
• Operates Air Quality Control Systems as specified.
• Follows established procedures and safety practices.
• Works under supervisor guidance and may assist with switching operations.
