Job summary
Vistra's Luminant Generation Company LLC seeks an experienced engineer to lead generation technology analysis and long-range program management. You will oversee 3rd party resources, drive commercial availability of new tech, and guide engineering strategies to meet Vistra's objectives in Irving, TX.
The role emphasizes SME-level expertise, regulatory awareness, and the ability to deliver technical and economic justifications for complex projects across fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant
Qualifications
- BS or greater in an engineering discipline, civil preferred.
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent experience.
- Recognized SME within Vistra with broad technical capability.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory codes and industry issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for development of commercial/environmental/reliability/sustainability interests in new technology applications.
- Act as SME in areas of value to Vistra engineering.
- Support operations in applying technologies at operating plants or development projects.
- Perform complex root cause analysis.
- Develop innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems.
- Mentor and develop other employees in areas of expertise.
- Contribute to economic justification/analysis for projects.
- Contribute to engineering strategies and initiatives across the company.
