Job summary

Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) invites junior or rising senior engineers to join as a summer intern in the Austin, TX area for 2027. The role focuses on power plant systems, equipment, and performance testing, under licensed supervision, with housing support provided via relocation stipend.

Applicants should be enrolled in an accredited university program (junior year or transitioning to senior year) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program in junior year or has completed junior year and will be starting senior year.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of progressively responsible engineering assignments involving engineering principles, under the limited supervision of a licensed professional engineer.
• Contribute to engineering projects involving adaptations and modifications to Power Plant systems, equipment, materials and procedures.
• Contribute to tests and diagnosis and evaluation of equipment performance for power plants.
• Prepare reports, operating instructions and project outlines in connection with engineering assignments. Follow appropriate business procedures, and apply project management techniques.

How You’ll Contribute
