Job summary

NAES is seeking a Combustion Turbine Operator/Technician to oversee the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of GE LM6000 turbines across NYC sites. The role requires multi-craft skills in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls, with close collaboration with the Remote Control Room Operator to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment conditions, performing maintenance, reading diagrams, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Power Plant Technology or related field preferred.
• Experience operating and maintaining combustion turbines (LM6000 preferred).
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical diagrams to support operations.

Responsibilities

• Start, operate, monitor, and shut down GE LM6000 turbines and auxiliary equipment per procedures.
• Monitor meters and data to evaluate conditions and take corrective action.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on turbines and balance-of-plant systems.
• Read electrical diagrams and manuals to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
• Coordinate with Remote Control Room Operator for safe, compliant operation.
• Use CMMS (Maximo) to complete work orders and maintain logs.
