Job summary

NAES Corporation in New York City seeks a Combustion Turbine (CT) Operator / Technician to safely operate and maintain GE LM6000 turbines across multiple NYC sites. You will perform mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls maintenance, read P&IDs, and coordinate with the Remote Control Room staff to ensure reliable power generation.

The role involves 10-12 hour rotating shifts, on-site work, and strict adherence to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and spill prevention.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Power Plant Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Process Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience operating and maintaining combustion turbines or comparable power generation equipment.
• Strong knowledge of GE LM6000 and balance-of-plant systems.
• Hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of plant equipment.
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical diagrams, manuals, and procedures.
• Experience monitoring equipment conditions and taking action based on data.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout, hazardous materials handling, spill prevention.
• Ability to work independently and across multi-site operations; valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Start, operate, monitor, and shut down GE LM6000 turbines and auxiliary equipment per procedures and requirements.
• Monitor meters, gauges, alarms, controls, and data; take corrective actions for abnormal conditions.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; troubleshoot and repair.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, diagrams, and manuals to support operation and maintenance.
• In the control room, monitor systems, respond to alarms, and coordinate startup/shutdown actions.
• Coordinate with Remote Control Room Operator and others during operations and outages.
• Use CMMS tools to complete work orders and maintain logs and records.
• Support maintenance/outage activities, lockout/tagout, and return-to-service tasks.
• Handle hazardous materials and waste; participate in spill prevention and environmental programs.
• Maintain required training and participate in NAES Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs.
• Work independently within procedures and perform additional duties as needed.
