Job summary

NAES is seeking a Control Room Operator for the Dogwood Energy Facility near Pleasant Hill, MO. You will monitor and control a 625 MW natural gas combined-cycle plant, respond to alarms, and execute start-up and shutdown procedures to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires disciplined, 12-hour rotating shifts, with involvement in safety programs and meticulous logs. The ideal candidate brings strong power-plant operations experience, leadership, and a commitment to compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and monitoring a power plant, prioritizing safety and reliability.
• Strong knowledge of control room procedures and plant systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to develop team members.
• Proven track record adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with management and teams.
• Experience with turbines, HRSGs, and associated equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up, operation, and shutdown of all plant equipment per safety and operational standards.
• Monitor plant systems and alarms, ensuring readiness to participate in market operations.
• Support Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance Programs across shifts.
• Maintain daily logs and plant records including outputs, fuel, and emissions.
• Review logs to verify equipment status and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist in training, handovers, and development of operations personnel.
