Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Apprentice Plant Attendant at the Sherburne County Generating Plant in Becker, MN. The role involves assisting in operation, maintenance, and inspection of boilers, turbines, and related systems, with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Applicants must obtain Minnesota boiler licenses within specified time frames and pass required tests; prior power plant education or experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must pass the Edison Electric Institute POSS/MASS EEI Test.
• Must possess Minnesota State Boiler's License; license requirements within specified days.
• Must have ability to learn and understand generating plant operations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation, maintenance, and inspection of boilers, turbine generators, etc.
• Follow plant procedures and document records as required by management.
