Xcel Energy in La Crosse, Wisconsin is seeking an Apprentice Plant Attendant to assist with operating, maintaining and inspecting boilers, turbine generators and auxiliary equipment at the French Island Plant. The role includes work in the RDF Recovery Facility during the apprenticeship and towards Journeyman status.

The position requires willingness to work in confined spaces, adhere to procedures, and participate in safety-focused activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical training/experience with boiler and steam turbine operation desirable.
• Experience with mechanical and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation, maintenance and inspection of boilers, turbine generators and auxiliary equipment.
• Work in the RDF Plant throughout apprenticeship and Journeyman status.
• Follow plant procedures and assist in documenting records; participate in plant emergencies.
