Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a highly motivated power architect to own and advance a power estimation and analysis platform shaping architecture and product decisions. This role sits at the intersection of software development, system architecture, performance modeling, and silicon analysis.

You will build models, analyze trade-offs, integrate telemetry and counters, and drive adoption across architecture, performance, power, and firmware teams.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS, or related STEM field—or equivalent experience. 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong software development skills in Python or C++, with production-quality tools experience.
  • Understanding of computer/SoC architecture including processors, memory, interconnects and power-management concepts.
  • Experience with power and performance estimation, modeling, or system-level analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate architecture trade-offs using metrics like performance per watt and bandwidth.
  • Experience modeling workloads and analyzing how workload characteristics affect power and performance.
  • Familiarity with silicon telemetry, performance-monitoring counters, power sensors, traces, logs or lab data.
  • Strong data-analysis and debugging skills; ability to correlate results from multiple sources.
  • Experience designing maintainable software with automated testing, documentation, and reproducible workflows.
  • Ability to own an ambiguous technical area from requirements to adoption; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, development, validation, and long-term roadmap of power estimation and analysis tools.
  • Develop scalable software for estimating and analyzing power and performance across workloads and configurations.
  • Build models translating architectural parameters, workload behavior, and telemetry into actionable insights.
  • Enable rapid analysis of trade-offs including performance, power, energy, and thermals.
  • Develop workload models and representative scenarios for early architecture exploration.
  • Integrate telemetry, performance counters, power measurements, and simulation data into a unified framework.
  • Correlate pre-silicon estimates with post-silicon measurements and improve prediction accuracy.
  • Create automation, visualization, and reporting to make analysis accessible to architects and teams.
  • Partner with architecture, performance, power, thermal, firmware, validation, and silicon teams to define requirements.
  • Establish sound software-engineering practices and release management.
  • Serve as the technical owner and SME for the tool.
