Job summary

Yes Energy is seeking a Senior Analyst, Power Markets Modeler, to lead asset-level forecasts and research North American power market fundamentals. You will mentor junior staff and bridge complex grid data with strategic client decisions.

Responsibilities include model leadership, advanced research on renewables and energy policy, and stakeholder engagement. Strong Python/R/SQL skills and advanced degrees are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field required.
• Strong experience with Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and automation.
• Deep understanding of North American power market fundamentals and energy economics.
• Experience with optimization modeling and microeconomics concepts.
• Proven ability to perform econometric/statistical forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of North American electric grid forecasts.
• Perform in-depth research on renewable energy trends and regulatory developments.
• Conduct quantitative analysis linking environmental metrics to market outcomes.
• Automate data workflows and improve model ingestion processes using Python or similar.
• Mentor junior analysts and communicate results to clients.
