Job summary

Conduit Power is seeking a Market Risk Associate in Houston to identify, quantify, and monitor market and financial risks for its natural gas power generation assets in the ERCOT market. The role includes responsibility for risk reporting, hedging analysis, and financial modeling to support forecasting and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field required.
• 3-7 years of experience in finance, with power generation/ERCOT market experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CTRM/ETRM and FP&A planning systems (NetSuite, OATI, or similar).
• Advanced Excel and hands-on quantitative modeling (Monte Carlo, VaR) and data tooling (SQL, Power Query, Python or R).

Responsibilities

• Own and produce the daily risk report for the Risk Management Committee (RMC) including dashboard, Forward Simulation, and VaR.
• Maintain the day-ahead/real-time DAM/RT limit model and monitor market conditions against risk limits.
• Decompose revenue drivers (hub, basis, dispatch, premium) and reconcile generation vs forecast at ERCOT nodal level.
• Support hedging analysis across the merchant portfolio and track exposures under risk policy.
• Build and maintain scenario, sensitivity, and stress-test models to assess price, volume, and liquidity impacts.
• Monitor counterparty credit exposure, contract terms, and covenant risk across offtake and financing arrangements.
