Job summary

Base Power Company is seeking a Market Analyst to own P&L reporting and risk tracking for our fleet of distributed batteries and retail operations. You will build pricing models, advise hedging strategies, and collaborate with Finance, Growth and Legal to optimize profitability across ERCOT and PJM markets.

The role requires knowledge of energy markets and strong analytical skills. You will work with traders and policy leads in a startup environment where priorities evolve quickly.

Qualifications

• Experience with wholesale power markets (ERCOT, PJM) and retail energy dynamics.
• Ability to build pricing models and evaluate margin and risk.
• Strong analytical thinking with basic statistics understanding.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build a bottoms-up retail pricing model for PJM based on ERCOT.
• Integrate PJM into risk system and P&L reporting to monitor margins.
• Identify new market opportunities and coordinate with Finance, Growth, and Legal & Policy.
• Recommend hedging adjustments and track exposure against risk limits.
