Job summary

Conduit Power, LLC in Houston seeks a Market Risk Associate to identify, quantify, and monitor commercial, market, and financial risks across gas-fired power projects including merchant ERCOT operations and behind-the-meter generation. You will support FP&A, reporting, and project-based financial modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in finance required, with experience in power generation, power trading, or ERCOT market operations preferred; direct ERCOT nodal-market or middle-office commodity-risk experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with CTRM/ETRM and FP&A planning systems (NetSuite, OATI, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, plus hands-on quantitative modeling (probability distributions, Monte Carlo simulation, VaR) and data tooling such as SQL, Power Query, or Python/R.
• Experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and quantifying financial or market risk.

Responsibilities

• Own and produce daily risk reports for the Risk Management Committee (RMC), including dashboards and VaR.
• Maintain day-ahead/real-time DAM/RT quantitative limit model and market-condition classification.
• Decompose realized revenue into hub, basis, dispatch, and premium effects; reconcile generation vs forecast at ERCOT nodal level.
• Support hedging analysis and evaluate power, fuel, and basis risk across merchant portfolio.
• Build and maintain scenario, sensitivity, and stress-test models to assess price and liquidity impacts.
• Monitor counterparty credit exposure, contract terms, and concentration risk.
• Track lender covenants and debt service coverage; flag potential breaches and support risk reporting.
