Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Enrollment in a power line related one year or greater certificate program, with minimum 16 weeks internship.
• Requires HireVue Line Worker Virtual Job Tryout with results.
• Test is online, untimed, typically ~45 minutes; see test prep page.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Must possess a CDL permit.
• Must be eligible to acquire and maintain a CDL-A license.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply safety rules to perform duties.
• Participate in tailboards, JSA, and safety meetings.
• Observe and learn installation, maintenance, and inspection of underground/overhead facilities under supervision.
• Climb poles and ladders; work above ground level under supervision.
• Assist with loading/unloading, installing, and removing poles.
• Splice primary/secondary overhead wires using proper tools.
• Learn to use, inspect, and maintain tools/equipment.
• Inspect and maintain PPE and insulating gear.
• Read and record readings on kilowatt-hour meters.
• Follow safety/environmental guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
• Read prints and specifications; perform related work.
