Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Planning & Protection Engineer to oversee the reliability of Maryland's distribution systems. The role is onsite at the Williamsport, MD area, with a focus on analysis, planning, and modernization of infrastructure to meet current and future electrical needs.

The engineer will develop long-range plans, prepare budgets, and support regulatory reporting, while collaborating with MD Operations and field teams to ensure safe, reliable service.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license or advanced degree acceptable.
• 0-5 years of engineering experience; FE exam a plus.
• Knowledge of NESC and NEC.

Responsibilities

• Assess and improve Maryland distribution reliability.
• Develop and maintain plans to meet reliability targets.
• Prepare budgets and schedules for reliability projects.
• Analyze outage projects, DEMI, CEMI, WPC data.
• Prepare reliability and regulatory reports.
• Support storm process as needed.
