Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Power System Protection Engineer in Huntsville, AL. You will apply protective relays to power grids, teach customers, and develop demonstrations to showcase new protections.

You will work closely with customers, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to technical papers. The role requires a strong background in power system protection, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with power system protection and relays.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

• Apply new technologies or solutions to customers' power systems.
• Design models/demonstrations to teach customers about protections.
• Support SEL products and troubleshoot to reach root cause.
• Analyze responses of protective relays to faults in power systems.
• Teach customers how to use SEL products and protection concepts.
• Contribute to white papers, guides, and technical papers.
