Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is offering an Operator in Training program designed to develop future System Operators across a 15-state region. The program spans 9–12 months, culminating in NERC certification and a placement with the Generation & Interchange team to begin a career in system operations.

Participants will interact with experienced control room staff, engage in structured curriculum and development activities, and must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift as

Qualifications

BachelorAy degree in energy, engineering, business, or technical fields.
Relevant industry or transferrable work experience.
Military experience in technical or operational roles aligned to energy systems or critical operations.
Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and carry out work objectives.
Clear verbal and written communication is essential.

Responsibilities

Participate in a 9D12 month training program to become a System Operator.
Pass the NERC exam and join the Generation & Interchange team.
Complete desk-qualification requirements and obtain RC System Operator certification.
Prepare for a 12-hour day/night rotating shift schedule.
