Actalent in Orlando, FL is seeking a Distribution Engineer to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. You will focus on distribution projects, performing design development, calculations for poles, guying, cable pulling, and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, and fault currents.
• Coordinate protective devices for power distribution projects.
• Prepare forestry trimming requests and facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition.
• Develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) and estimate project costs.
• Engage in design development and coordination (90% of the time) with occasional fieldwork required after several months on the job (10%).
