Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a skilled technician based out of our Lemont, IL service center to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and related systems.

This full-time role offers overtime and weekend work with potential travel. You will troubleshoot issues at shop and on customer sites, using your knowledge of schematics, tonnage, and safety standards.

Qualifications

High School diploma/GED required.
3+ years of experience maintaining power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment.
Ability to read schematics and determine nominal and effective tonnage or kW requirements.
May need to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 60–80 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil-free air compressors.
Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations and complete the repairs.
Work either independently or with a team to set up and operate equipment at the shop or customer sites.
Base location is the Lemont, IL service center and there is potential for travel.
Overtime and weekends may be required.
