Job summary

Roper Pumps in Commerce, GA, seeks a Product Manager to own quotations for power generation pumps, manage on-time delivery, and drive new product development with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing.

You will lead pricing strategy, gate the product lifecycle, and engage customers and industry partners to expand market presence and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred.
• Experience in product management, applications engineering, inside sales, quotations, or project management within manufacturing preferred.
• Familiarity with power generation equipment, rotating equipment, gear pumps, or fuel oil and lube oil systems strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, customer specs and BOMs; translate requirements into actionable needs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities against firm delivery dates.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing workflow (order entry, routing, scheduling, shop floor status).
• Aptitude for project management and cross-functional coordination.
• Willingness to learn project tracking tools such as TeamGuru or similar.
• Strong analytical skills: cost and margin analysis, pricing reviews using Excel.
• Clear, confident communicator; able to lead meetings and present to customers.
• Detail-oriented with disciplined action tracking and quote accuracy.
• Customer-focused mindset with interest in on-time execution and growth.

Responsibilities

• Route quotes for new builds and repairs, ensuring scope, pricing, and lead times are correct.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement for cost, lead times, and inputs.
• Maintain quotation log and follow up on open quotes for conversion and forecasting.
• Represent product line at industry events and customer meetings; gather market input.
• Lead the 3-gear pump program and other development projects on time and budget.
• Own development budgets and track spend against plan; flag variances.
• Ensure smooth transition of new products into production with proper documentation.
