Job summary

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, seeks a Power Generation Mechanical Engineering Intern in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position starts May/June 2027 and runs full-time through the summer, with potential for part-time during the school year. The starting hourly rate is $23.10 with paid company holidays.

You will join a team supporting the Milwaukee Valley Power Plant, gaining real-world experience under experienced engineers in Power Generation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support and shadow the plant mechanical engineer
• Equipment reliability
• Capital project support
• Gain familiarity with company computer applications, drawing management systems, and work management tools
• Search, retrieve, review and update drawings and related technical documentation
• Help troubleshoot operation and maintenance issues under direct supervision
• Participate in safety observations and environmental walkdowns
• Support outage planning activities such as scope development, material management and vendor selection
• Introduction to high energy piping inspections to detect and manage flow accelerated corrosion
• Complete assigned training on corporate policies, plant systems, and safety

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
