Job summary

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is offering a Power Generation Mechanical Engineering Intern position in Whitewater, Wisconsin. This summer internship runs from May/June 2027 through the end of summer, with an hourly rate of $23.10 and paid company holidays.

As part of the internship, you'll join a team of engineers supporting operation, maintenance, performance and optimization of Power Plant locations, gain hands-on experience, and receive mentoring from experienced engineers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related with graduation date after July 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Equipment inspections.
• Troubleshooting operation and maintenance issues.
• Failure investigation.
• Project support.
• Assist in managing small projects.
• Equipment reliability.
• Equipment and plant performance and optimization.
• Drawing reviews and updates.
• Procedure reviews and updates.
• Ensure adherence to codes and standards.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering majors
