Job summary

AVL is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in Charlotte, NC to oversee daily warehouse operations and staff, ensuring safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will coordinate with production and purchasing, optimize space, and lead inventory accuracy efforts.

You will also implement SOPs, manage performance reviews, and drive data-driven improvements. A 5+ year manufacturing background, Power Gen preferred, and licenses (forklift, Aerial Lift, Crane, Rigging, Hoisting) are assets.

Qualifications

• 2-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of warehousing KPIs.
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage personnel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Experience in Visual ERP is considered an asset.
• Valid forklift, Aerial Lift, Crane, Rigging, and Hoisting licenses are considered an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in the Power Generation sector.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Warehouse, Inventory management, and shipping.
• Ensure that goods are received, inspected, and stored accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and shipping departments to meet production schedules and demands.
• Implement and maintain efficient warehouse layout and space utilization to optimize workflow and storage capacity.
• Assist HR with recruitment, onboarding, and training.
• Administer probationary and annual performance reviews.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Work with the Warehouse and Distribution Operations Manager to implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and ensure proper stock levels.
• Work with other departments to manage stock levels and reorder points.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other technology solutions to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
• Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, including metrics such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and efficiency.
• Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Provide recommendations to senior management based on analysis and operational needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse to reduce risks, improve efficiency, and comply with safety standards.
